This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

Next GPAC Meeting

Save the Date!


Thank you to the GPAC Members who participated in the Doodle Poll for potential next GPAC Meeting dates. The preferences were close between June 8 and June 15. This week, City Council called a special budget meeting for June 8. Therefore, June 15 is the likely date for our Virtual GPAC Meeting via Zoom!


Meeting details and Zoom Meeting instructions will be forwarded to GPAC Members soon. Email staff with any questions!

Survey Update


The Land Use Survey will be extended! As part of the outreach for the upcoming GPAC Meeting, the City will be announcing the extension of the Land Use Survey. The survey links are still open, so please continue to share with your networks!

With traffic dramatically down in recent months, the United States is in the middle of an accidental experiment showing what happens to air pollution when millions of people stop driving.

The air is clearer. But the pollution declines aren't nearly as large as early indications suggested, according to an NPR analysis of six years of Environmental Protection Agency data.

Expanded Stage 2!

On May 19, 2020, Napa County was approved by the California Department of Public Health to move into Expanded Stage 2. 

Businesses, working with their city/town chambers of commerce, are being asked to organize themselves by sector and develop Best Management Practices in preparation of future State guidance. More information:

City Offices Closed - Staff Still At Work

All public counters in Napa City offices are closed to the public, and open only on a by-appointment basis. By modifying services, using social distancing and offering assistance and service over the phone, we can do our part to minimize COVID-19 exposure to City staff and the public. You can continue to communicate with Planning Staff by calling 707-257-9530 to schedule a phone appointment.
