GPAC Quick Hits Newsletter

This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

GPAC Virtual Meeting Recap

The GPAC held their first meeting via Zoom Webinar on Monday, June 15. Plans for an upcoming virtual community workshop were discussed.

Meeting notes coming soon!

Planning Staff will be discussing adding another GPAC meeting prior to the workshop at their check-in meeting with the Chair and Vice Chair on Tuesday. More information to come!

Survey Extended!


The Land Use Survey has been extended! As part of the outreach for the upcoming GPAC Meeting, the City announced the extension of the Land Use Survey. Please continue to share with your networks!

GPAC Member Content

GPAC Member John Glaser shares a couple learning opportunities on Climate Change!

One is a self-guided course from the Post Carbon Institute. He recommends Lessons 20 and 21 which focus on what can be done at the local level. He has also graciously offered to provide a summary of the course for the GPAC in a future Newsletter!

Housing the Bay Virtual Summit

The Urban Land Institute - San Francisco (ULI-SF) is hosting their Housing the Bay Summit virtually this year on Tuesday, September 15 - 7:30AM to 1:30PM.

Unfortunately, due to the current budget conditions, the City has suspended all travel and training, but interested staff or Committee Members may attend on their own.

ADU Center - Up & Running!


Getting started on an Accessory Dwelling Unit project can be a daunting undertaking, and studies show that the average homeowner can spend a couple of years just thinking about their ADU before even beginning the planning process.

City Offices Closed - Staff Still At Work

All public counters in Napa City offices are closed to the public, and open only on a by-appointment basis. By modifying services, using social distancing and offering assistance and service over the phone, we can do our part to minimize COVID-19 exposure to City staff and the public.
