GPAC Quick Hits Newsletter

This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

Virtual Land Use Workshop

Miss the Workshop or want a recap?

Building on what we heard from previous community outreach, this interactive and informative workshop looked at urban design and land use approaches for four key corridors, including along Jefferson Street, Trancas Street, Soscol and Lincoln Avenue, and Soscol and Imola Avenue. Parklets & Shared Spaces

On July 10, 2020, in light of additional restrictions on indoor restaurant activity, the City launched the Parklet/ Shared Space pilot program. This new program allows business owners to potentially utilize the public parking space in the street in front of their business for outdoor dining, wine tasting, or other outdoor uses.

This program was an expansion of the streamlined Outdoor Dining Permit pilot program created to facilitate speedy review and approval of new and expanded outdoor dining areas on public property (sidewalks and parks) and on private property (parking lots and other areas on private land). Housing the Bay Virtual Summit

The Urban Land Institute - San Francisco (ULI-SF) is hosting their Housing the Bay Summit virtually this year on Tuesday, September 15 - 7:30AM to 1:30PM.

Unfortunately, due to the current budget conditions, the City has suspended all travel and training, but interested staff or Committee Members may attend on their own.

City Offices Closed - Staff Still At Work

All public counters in Napa City offices are closed to the public, and open only on a by-appointment basis. By modifying services, using social distancing and offering assistance and service over the phone, we can do our part to minimize COVID-19 exposure to City staff and the public.
