We're ready for winter to move aside and make way for Spring Break Camp! It's going to be a fun filled five days with games, crafts making new friends and more! Las Flores Community Center is right around the corner. Space is limited to ensure we are offering the safest experience possible for our campers. Register HERE

Explore our newest offerings including: Stargazing, Ukulele Jam, Tree Planting, Pruning and Removal, Online Seminars, Wildflower Walk, Tennis, Soccer, Mini-Baseball, Art and Music. We are offering limited programs at this time and appreciate your patience until we can return with more programs. With the current health orders, many of our programs and seminars are now offered on Zoom or outdoors. View the course offerings HERE. 

Mustard Bloom

Mustard Season

The grey of February turns to sunny yellow when the mustard blooms in Napa Valley. Though not indigenous to the area, mustard is a beneficial vineyard cover crop that helps to control erosion, suppress pests and diseases and provides compost when plowed under. The bloom is peaking now. Alston Park is currently full of blooms!" Where's your favorite place to view the mustard bloom? Post a picture and tag us @napaparksandrec.

Leprechaun Leap

Alston Park March 17th 

Rumor has it there's a sneaky leprechaun running around Alston Park hiding shamrocks all around! Make your way to the park on St. Patrick's Day and try to find all seven of them. Take photos of the ones you find and tag us @napaparksandrec on social media. Did you know Alston Park has157 acres of open space and over 5 miles of trails? Luck of the Irish

A generous leprechaun has donated surprise treats that will be provided through your car window for you to take home and enjoy. This drive-thru event is limited to first 100 people and one surprise treat per person in attendance. Please stay in your vehicle and wear your mask. Staff will adhere to COVID safety protocols. (Age 50+)

Preschool Programs

Fall Preschool Programs

Registration opens March 20th at 8:00 am 

Little Rascals: 9 am - 12 pm (Tu,Th)
Pre-Kindergarten: 9 am - 12 pm (M,W,F)

If your little one likes laughter, games and fun then they will LOVE our preschool programs. Watch your child's self-esteem, confidence and creativity blossom through singing, art, stories, imagination and active games. Children will make “friends” with letters shapes, colors, numbers and their classmates through creative activities that focus on listening, logic and other cognitive and social skills. All preschoolers will be required to wear a mask. Space is limited! Register HERE.

Aerating Fuller Park

Winter Park Improvements

Maybe you have noticed? Our parks staff are busy conducting winter maintenance to refresh, revitalize and  beautify our city parks and landscape areas. They are aerating several park turf areas to allow more air, moisture and nutrients into the grass roots and avoid compaction which will bring back greener healthier grass. Irrigation audits are being conducted to ensure the park systems are working efficiently and effectively. Crews have been trimming hedges next to roadways to improve line of sight for drivers. Spring is right around the corner so our park staff is working hard to be ready for it! 

Park Ranger

Guided Ranger Hike

Westwood Hills Park 
Saturday, March 13th 10:00 - 11:30 am

Explore Westwood Hills Park with a Park Ranger! This guided walk will take you through the park to offer information about the natural features in the surrounding environment. Rangers will point out wildlife and help you learn to identify native plants. Dress in weather appropriate outdoor gear, bring some water and footwear that is comfortable for a moderate amount of walking. This program is free of charge however participants are asked to preregister HERE.

Bunny Hop

Bunny Hop Golden Egg Hunt

Saturday April 3rd 

Where will you find your Golden Egg? Your Parks and Recreation bunny has hidden 100 golden eggs throughout all of the City parks. Hop on over to your favorite park to see if you can find one! Find them, take a photo and tag us at @napaparksandrec on social media! Download a Park Map of use the Park Finder to locate a park near you.

Eggxtraordinary Coloring Contest

It's time to show us your eggceptional egg decorating skills! Send in a picture of your best decorated egg to be featured on our Parks & Recreation Facebook page!  Start sending in your photos now. Quality Customer Experience Awards

Have you ever called Parks and Recreation Department’s main phone line? If so, you probably talked to Angelica or Sienna. They answer questions and provide support for class registration, picnic reservations and park rentals. In addition, they handle between 50-100 tree service calls every month.  Angelica and Sienna always go the extra mile to provide exceptional customer service. We celebrated their efforts this past quarter as they demonstrated our department’s core value of providing Quality Customer Experience.

We've spent some time upgrading our software system to make it easier to browse and register for the activities you want. The first time you register you'll be asked to create a new account. It's an easy process. Go ahead and add additional members (spouse, children, etc.) while you're at it. Get a head start by visiting the new site HERE
