Napa to Improve Public Bottle and Can Collection The City of Napa's Solid Waste and Recycling Division was recently awarded a grant from @CalRecycle for $250,000 to help improve the City's bottle and can collection in public spaces. This grant will help purchase up to 20 solar-powered Big Belly collection containers that will be placed in high-traffic locations, including downtown and several parks.
The Big Belly containers are able to compress recycled bottles and cans and notify City staff when they are full, which saves our Parks & Rec staff time and allows them to be more efficient. We are grateful to CalRecycle for helping Napa further prioritize our recycling and conservation efforts!

Health Experts Now Recommend Two Masks - Here's How to Wear ThemHealth experts are now recommending wearing two masks when out or around others to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19. Masks work best when everyone wears them but not all masks provide the same protection.
When wearing two masks, there are two safe ways to layer: - Use a cloth mask that has multiple layers of fabric - Wear a disposable mask underneath a cloth mask (do NOT layer two disposable masks)
Always make sure the masks fit snugly against your face but that you can see and breathe easily.
For more information about how your mask protects you, visit the CDC's page here.
