GPAC Quick Hits Newsletter

This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

National League of Cities

Cities of Opportunity Learning Lab

The upcoming Cities of Opportunity Learning Lab discussion will highlight the achievements of the 2020 Cities of Opportunity Action Cohort. They will share learnings from their participation in the cohort of cities that included Las Vegas, NV, Napa, Ca, South Fulton, GA, Dubuque, IA, and Duluth MN.

During this interactive session, you will hear how each city collaborated with partners to tackle complex problems, engaged in authentic community engagement, and responded to the pandemic, economic crisis, and systemic racism. Speakers will also address how they incorporated advancing equity in their response to these triple crises.

City Offices Now Open!

City buildings re-opened to the public on July 6, 2021. We are open Monday through Thursday, from 8 AM to 5 PM; offices will be physically closed to the public on Fridays. Every day, including Friday, community members will still be able to access Planning staff and services by phone or by appointment. We respectfully ask that all visitors to our facilities please wear a mask when indoors, as the safety of our community and our staff is of the utmost importance.
