This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

Imola Corridor Improvement Plan

The Napa Valley Transit Authority (NVTA) is developing a new vision for the Imola Corridor and wants to hear from you! The Imola Corridor Complete Streets Improvement Plan will create a new vision for the street, to transform it into a place where people of all ages and abilities can travel safely and comfortably, whether walking, bicycling, riding transit, or driving.

General Plan Update - Behind The Scenes

Planning Staff met with the Consultant Team on Monday to discuss scheduling for Stakeholder Interviews. Representatives of public agencies, community members, major property owners, business associations, advocacy organizations, etc. will be interviewed by the consultant team over a two-day workshop in early June. More details coming soon!

Planning Staff has reached out to potential speakers for the GPAC's upcoming "Conversations" on Climate and Innovative Housing. Once speakers are confirmed, we will finalize dates and locations!

Upcoming

Planning Staff will be attending the League of California Cities North Bay Chapter division meeting on Thursday, May 16. Senator Scott Wiener will be presenting information on the SB 50 Housing Bill making it's way through the Senate.

A discussion about the General Plan Update will also be on the agenda at the May 20 meeting of the Napa County Democrats. Planning Staff, GPAC Chair Chuck Shinnamon, and Planning Commission Chair Beth Painter will serve on the panel. More details to come!
