This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

General Membership Meeting

The General Plan Update is on the agenda of the Democrats of Napa Valley General Membership Meeting. Panelists include: Beth Painter, Chair - Planning Commission; Chuck Shinnamon, Chair - GPAC; Ricky Hurtado, Member - GPAC, and Mike Walker, Senior Planner. Imola Corridor Improvement Plan

The Napa Valley Transit Authority (NVTA) is developing a new vision for the Imola Corridor and wants to hear from you! The Imola Corridor Complete Streets Improvement Plan will create a new vision for the street, to transform it into a place where people of all ages and abilities can travel safely and comfortably, whether walking, bicycling, riding transit, or driving.

General Plan Update - Behind The Scenes

Next Steps: Planning Staff met with the Consultant Team to prepare for the upcoming Alternatives Phase. The Consultant Team will synthesize input from workshops, surveys, feedback from PC/Council, and Stakeholder Meetings (early June) into Visions, Themes, and Guiding Principles. A GPAC Brainstorming Meeting will be held to discuss options for the Alternatives. Afterwards, public outreach will commence on the Alternatives options prior to the GPAC reconvening to make recommendations to the Planning Commission.

Stakeholder Meetings: Community Development Staff is finalizing the list of Community Stakeholders to participate in a two-day workshop tentatively scheduled for June 10 & 11. More details to come!

Upcoming

GPAC members Shinnamon, Narvaez, Siegel, and Glaser will be meeting with Community Development Staff this week to continue discussions on GPAC activities and workshop ideas in the lead-up to the Alternatives Phase. More details to come!
