General Plan Update At-A-Glance

Save the Date - GPAC Workshop

Based on the responses to the Doodle Poll, July 15 is the preferred date for the GPAC Workshop.

The focus of the Workshop will be to review the City's current General Plan and take a look at some recent examples of new General Plans in California to help get the creative juices flowing for what we want our Napa 2040 General Plan to look like!

GPAC Workshop
July 15, 2019
5:30 - 7:30PM
Location TBD

Several GPAC Members have requested that Staff designate potential meeting dates for the coming months. In order to provide some predictability for future meetings and avoiding conflicts with other Boards/Commissions/Council meeting dates, GPAC meetings will be held on the 4th Monday of the month. More information to come!

General Plan Update - Behind The Scenes

Stakeholder Meetings: The Consultant Team will be hosting a two-day workshop on June 10 & 11.  Stakeholders include Public Agencies such as Napa County, Napa Sanitation District, NVTA, and Napa Valley College; Community Organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, Downtown Napa Association, Housing Coalition, Climate Action and Ag Preserve organizations; as well as other major property owners. The Consultant Team will synthesize the information collected and will share with the GPAC to assist in the next phases of the General Plan Update.

Public Forums: GPAC Chair Chuck Shinnamon is leading an effort with GPAC members Siegel, Barreca, Glaser, and Vice Chair Narvaez to coordinate public forums on Health in All Polices (HiAP) and Senior's Issues with an emphasis on housing and vulnerable seniors. City Staff is at-the-ready to assist with publicizing any forums or community discussions GPAC members may be coordinating. Look for an outline/checklist to assist GPAC members in coordinating these types of sessions in an upcoming Newsletter!
