Waters Technology Park

San Mateo, California

At the California APA Conference in Santa Barbara, staff attended a session on Transforming Land Banks into Housing Solutions - Creatively reevaluating underutilized land assets for housing.

One case study was the Waters Technology Park redevelopment in San Mateo.
Waters Technology Office Park is an 11.1-acre property  occupied by an approximately 100,000-square-foot office business park. The proposed redevelopment would demolish all existing offices and replace with 190 for-sale residences, including a mix of two-story detached single-family residences, as well as three and four story attached townhomes and flats, a trail and open space.
