Napa Community Awareness Management System (CAMS) is a public-private-community partnership, blending a mix of real-time crime-fighting and community policing aimed at improving neighborhood safety, promoting the success and growth of local businesses, and strengthening the Napa Police Department's efforts to deter, identify, and solve crime. Napa CAMS combines city-owned cameras and private-owned cameras into a consolidated awareness network.
The Napa Police Department can utilize your video feeds to assist during incident and to investigate past criminal acts.

Yes. Napa CAMS has been active since January of 2019. In that short time, our operators have observed several in progress incidents resulting in arrests. Additionally, recorded footage has been helpful in several investigations.
If you have an existing Genetec, Stratocast, or Comcast camera system, it is about $100 a year to join. If you have an existing commercial grade camera system, there may be additional costs depending on how many cameras and what type of equipment you own.
Yes, participants must have internet access.
Yes. Napa CAMS can link to existing camera systems that are certified to the ONVIF standard. A Napa CAMS Program Officer can assist you in determining if your camera is compatible.
You do not pay the city any money to be a part of Napa CAMS. All costs are through approved vendors.
Yes, in the event of an emergency, businesses are required to call 911.
